HURL OF THE ORIENT
2024-25
Hurl of the Orient exhibits the intersection of Orientalism and the lived experiences of familial women, particularly through the lens of a hospitality worker. Orientalism, as conceptualised by Edward Said, refers to the Western perception of the East as exotic, mysterious, and subordinate. This collection brings visibility to the complexities of female roles and the resilience embedded in their everyday existence.
